Arrival & Departure

  • Check-in flows between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM.

    Arriving later? No stress. Just send us a WhatsApp, and we’ll share the smooth self-check-in details with you. Easy and relaxed.

  • Check-out is at 11:00 AM.

    Not quite ready to leave your cozy nest?

    A late check-out (1 extra hour) is possible for €15, subject to availability.

  • Absolutely!

    Arriving early or heading out for one last swim before leaving?

    You can store your luggage with us free of charge.

  • You can reach us anytime via WhatsApp directly from our website, or simply give us a call. We’re always ready to help you out.

  • Yes. We serve a continental breakfast spread with local and seasonal products. Fresh, simple and nourishing for a small fee of 11€.

  • Yes. The kitchen is open daily from 8:00AM to 10:00PM.

  • Yes. Matsya Hostel in Anglet has an on-site coffee bar open daily from 8am to 11pm and again from 3pm to 9pm.

    We serve coffee, hot drinks, non-alcoholic beverages, and a selection of local alcoholic drinks in a relaxed, community-focused setting.

Community & Atmosphere

  • Nope! We’re more sunset circle than tequila shots.

    Our atmosphere is calm, social, and community-focused. Think surf sessions, yoga classes, shared meals and relaxed evenings.

    Quiet hours begin at 10:00 PM.

    We’re only a short bus, bike ride or drive away from all the nightlife of Biarritz and Bayonne to kick on after our bar closes at 9 PM.

  • Yes, but only during the low season.

    Don't hesitate to get in touch with us directly, and we’ll see what’s possible.

  • Yes, but only in private rooms or in the private house.

  • We’re pet-friendly 🐶

    Dogs are welcome in private rooms and in the private house only, with a small extra love fee of €15 per stay.

    And you’ll probably meet Mia, our gentle mascot and part of the Matsya soul, during your stay. She’s part of the home.

    • 45 minutes on foot

    We partner with Joe Bike, a local bike rental company, including electric bikes, to help you get around the local area.

  • Matsya Hostel is ideally located between both major towns of the BAB region.

    If you don’t have a car, we highly recommend renting a bike with us or making the most of the frequent and affordable bus services.

    Bayonne:

    • 6 minutes by car

    • 10 minutes by bike

    • 30 minutes by bus

    • 40 minutes on foot

    Biarritz:

    • 13 minutes by car

    • 30 minutes by bike

    • 30 minutes by bus

  • Directly next door is France Asia supermarket (Asian grocery store with takeaway food and drinks).

    Just up the road:

    • Public transport access

  • We don’t have private parking, but there is a free public car park less than a 5 minute walk away.

    All rooms are located on the upper floors.

  • Yes. The maximum stay at Matsya Hostel is 14 consecutive days.
